The topic of finding our calling in life is massive, to say the least. Each of us was placed on this earth to do something amazing, yet the true struggle is finding a way to learn what that reason truly is. In fact, for some, the struggle can become so overwhelming that they let go of their calling and settle for less.
To those of you who are on the brink of, or who have thrown in the towel on, finding your calling, Dr. Ramesh Richard says, “We each have an individual calling. It is our responsibility to pursue it. The pursuit will be a hard life, full of striving and some struggle. It will also be the most joyful, glorious, and fulfilling life we can imagine.”
Here are three realizations we must make to find our true calling:
- The calling itself.
The true calling that each of us holds in our life is the culmination of the true desires of our hearts. Your greatest fulfillment, joy, wealth, and even fun, will be found inside.
However, truly listening to yourself and focusing in on what your calling is could take a lifetime.
If this sounds too much to bear, ask yourself: Are you willing to put in all of the blood, sweat, and tears it takes to find the true desire of your heart? If so, try imagining what your life will look like in five years without it. Does it seem worth it now, with this in mind?
- What’s at stake.
What is the real cost of not pursuing, committing to, or discovering our true callings?
