Let’s face it: in today’s society we are all busy. Everyone from the heads of major corporations to Starbucks workers have a hard time staying on top of all of their daily obligations.
That said, how do we find a way to make it through the day, not just by struggling to survive and stay on top of things, but by actually thriving?
Entrepreneur and connector John Rampton says he’s found that in de-stressing your hectic life, it’s vital to take time to slow down and enjoy yourself a little. That can all be achieved by doing the following three things to decrease stress and bring happiness into your life:
- Embrace the silence.
As Andy Puddicombe for YouBeauty writes on The Huffington Post;
“Silence can mean different things to different people. The early hours of the morning, the serenity of the countryside, the few moments after you turn off the motor of your car, or even the simplicity of a clean and tidy room. Do your best to seek out this kind of silence, at least once a day. You deserve it.”
- Take a deep breath.
Sometimes decreasing stress is as simple as taking a deep breath. Breathing is proven to reduce everything from anxiety, stress, and blood pressure. Just make sure you’re breathing in a way that is physiologically optimal for your body.
- Work-life balance.
Ah, the elusive idea of work-life balance. For many of us, thinking of finding balance between home and work is almost as likely as finding a unicorn in our backyard — but I am here to tell you that this is more than possible.
